BALDNESS
Men's health issues can be broadly split into two main categories, those that threaten the continuing well being of a person and those that are cosmetic or trivial in nature.Baldness is possibly the greatest, non-damaging health issue that men worry about. Hair loss affects everyone differently, some people may be completely bald by their mid-twenties, and others may lose their hair so slowly that it is almost imperceptible. Baldness can affect people as young as 15 years old and by 60. In fact, almost everybody at sometime in their lives will have suffered from some form of hair loss inc. men and women.
To give the condition it's full name, Male Pattern
Baldness (adrogenic alopecia), we find that it is
very closely related to the male hormone known as
testosterone. Typical baldness will see the hair
receding from the temples and the crown of the
head or more general thinning all over.
Baldness that occurs in patches is known as
alopecia areata, and total baldness named
alopecia totalis, are caused by stress or
shock. Baldness is also something that has genetic roots;
it actually comes from the mothers genes. Basically, if
there are a lot of balding, receding or
thinning haired males on your mother's side of the family,
then chances are you will also suffer some form of
baldness.
If you are starting to lose your hair then
there is very little you can do about it. You can try to
minimise the loss by using a softer brush and not scrapping
your hair back into a ponytail or some other harsh
hairstyle. Try to avoid toying with your hair too much, the
more you leave it alone then the less hair you will
lose.
